Frontal plane Median (midsagittal) plane Transverse plane

A sectioned image is named for the plane (perspective) that the body is cut along.

Sagittal plane: verticle plane that divides the body into right and left portions

Frontal plane (coronal plane): verticle plane that divides the body into anterior and posterior (dorsal) portions.

Transverse plane: horizontal plane that divides the body superior and inferior parts

Oblique plane: diagonal plans between horizontal and vertical planes. Rarely used, differcult to interpret or and communicate view perspective.
